Kelsey Merritt
Kelsey Merritt was the first Filipina to walk Victoria’s Secret runway. She was particularly busy studying at the Ateneo and working part-time in modeling before making a reputation for herself globally. Kelsey’s face was already well-known before she became renowned abroad since she was frequently shown on television and in print advertisements. Kelsey was a Bench, Palmolive, and San Miguel model, to mention a few.
Billy Crawford
Billy Crawford has penetrated international music. His song Bright Lights was a major hit, and one of his recordings was used as the theme music for a popular anime called Pokemon. Billy was well-liked and regarded in the early 2000s, particularly in Europe. His career in France has become successful.
Taki Saito
Taki Saito’s career in the Philippines began when she was just 16 years old. Her early ventures were the sitcom ‘Small Family,’ which she co-created with Ryan Agoncillo and Carla Abellana. The youth-oriented program ‘Trops’ shortly followed. She is also the mainstay of Eat Bulaga and also appears regularly on ‘Sunday PinaSaya’. Taki’s career in the Philippines has flourished thanks to her gorgeous features and expertise in dancing. The girl also made several projects in the Philippines until late 2017 when Taki was invited to audition in Japan to become a member of a girl group ‘Faky’. Taki got the slot as its newest member and now Taki is recognized in Japan because of the exposure she gets there.
TJ Marquez
TJ Marquez’s name and face became well-known after he appeared on GMA Network’s variety show ‘Walang Tulugan with Master Showman.’ Although he often receives projects in the Philippines, his roles most of the time are supporting roles. And the actor seems to not be satisfied with this. As a result, he chose to venture into the field of entertainment in Indonesia. Fortunately, he became well-known in the country and was handed exciting tasks. TJ landed the role as one of the stars of Meteor Garden Indonesia. TJ tried to learn and master the Indonesian language to get more projects.
Apl de Ap
Apl de Ap was a young Angeles boy even before he came to America. Because of his talent, the singer became part of the Black Eyed Peas. There is no denying that Apl de Ap is well-known internationally. However, he remains a proud Filipino.
Lea Salonga
There is no denying the popularity of Lea Salonga. She was the first-ever Asian woman to receive a Tony Award. Lea was only 18 years old when she took the lead role as Kim in the stage musical Miss Saigon. She has also twice been the singing voice of Disney movies. Among these are Jasmine the Aladin and Mulan.
